Columbus Zoo

Assalaamu Alaykum world.  My mother, my second sister, little brother and I went to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium on June 22nd in Powell, Ohio.  They have a new Heart of Africa exhibit and camel rides which is $7.00 a ride and we fed the giraffes which was $3.00.   A giraffe's tongue is black so it doesn't get sunburned!  I rode a camel yesterday and it was fun! Cost me $7.00 and my camel's name was Ghost.  He was the youngest camel the zoo had, came from a wildlife place in I think Wisconsin, was 155 lbs and 8 ft tall and could carry a total of 725 lbs.

Cinn says that the Bedouins make their camels lay down and then get on the camel before making the camel get up again.  I had a heck of a time getting on the camel.  I couldn't get on the front so tried the back and managed to pull myself far enough over to sit comfortable.  Mom took a picture of me and I got a picture framed of me on camel!  My feet were sore and hurt from all the walking I did. All well-it's exercise and Cinn will be happy that I exercised.  It took a few days for my legs not to hurt anymore.

Three Arab men were following us until we got to the Amur Tiger and then they left.  My grandmother said it was probably because of me.  I think they were Arab, pretty sure they were speaking Arabic.  Saw a woman from India as she had a bint on her forehead (the red dot that says they're married) and a Muslim woman walk by at the zoo but she didn't see me and I didn't acknowledge her.  Well onto the pictures!

The Heart of Africa exhibit which is below has lions, camels, camel rides which are $7.00, giraffe, wildebeest, ostrich, and zebras in a fenced grassy area, a couple warthogs, and giraffe feeding which is $3.00 for three pieces of leaves. You are not allowed to touch the giraffes but their tongues feel soft and a bit weird.

I was the one who spotted the Bald Eagle.

Our nation's majestic pride.

That is a sun bear.
